Witness helps return stolen property

A witness helps police after car break-ins in the parking lot of a Colorado Springs business, according to police.

Officials said two men were had gotten into two cars in the parking lot of Kelly O’Brians on North Academy Boulevard at about 2 a.m Saturday morning.

Police said one of the men fired a shot as he was running away from the scene. Officers said they searched the area, but were not able to find the men.

A man who witnessed the break-ins chased after the suspect for a short time and was able to recover some stolen property, according to Colorado Springs police.

The men have not yet been caught.

Police said they were both described as Hispanic or black men, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with an average build. Officials said they were both wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts and black pants.
