Police: Suspicious package was just a gift bag

A suspicious package found near the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Academy Boulevard turned out to be an empty gift bag with a bow on it.

Police were called to the scene around 1:30 p.m. to investigate. Officers closed off the area while they examined the contents of the bag.

Once it was determined that the bag was safe, everything returned to normal in that area.
