First-Grader Suspended For Sexual Harassment

A first-grade student has been suspended for three days for sexual harassment after quoting a line from a song.

School officials say the 6-year-old boy was sent home after telling a girl “I’m sexy and I know it,” a line of a popular song.

The school issued a statement saying it could not discuss the case, but referred to a school board policy that defines sexual harassment as any unwelcome sexual advance. There is no age limit.

According to our sister station, KMGH-TV, the boy is accused of disrupting other students.

The boy’s mother says it was the second time her son has gotten in trouble for quoting the song. She also questioned whether the boy knows anything about sexual harassment.
