UPDATE: Teller County Deputies Investigating Sexual Assault
The Teller County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a sexual assault case that may have been going on for more than two years.
Teller County Sheriff Mike Ensminger said his office received a “claim of someone saying that there’s a family in town that’s participating in a sexual assault case.”
The Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at a home in Florissant on Wednesday. Neighbors tell KRDO Newschannel 13 the Teller County Investigations Unit was on scene from about 9 a.m. until 10 at p.m.
“We feel real good about what we’ve obtained, and we’re going to go forward with it,” said Ensminger.
The search warrant was served at 71 Freeman Drive in Florissant in the Wilson Lake Estates area.
“We’re going to process the search warrant, and the items obtained that were the result of the search warrant and hopefully we’ll have enough evidence at that point in time to seek an arrest warrant in the case,” said Ensminger.
