Shots Fired In Springs Neighborhood
A man is in jail after firing a gun in a Colorado Springs neighborhood.
Police say it happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday night on Chokecherry Drive, just off Centennial in the Rockrimmon neighborhood.
Three Coronado High School students were going door to door selling discount cards for a school fundraiser when they came to the wrong house.
Officers tell us 38-year-old Arthur Baldwin became verbally and physically aggressive with them, reportedly grabbing one of them.
The students say they got away and ran down the street with Baldwin chasing after them and firing two rounds from a handgun.
Police say they don’t know if Baldwin was shooting at the students or in the air, but neighbors confirm they heard the shots. None of the teenagers were hurt.
Officers set up containment around the house and were able to call Baldwin.
Police say he eventually came out and was taken into custody without incident.
A .25 caliber handgun was recovered.
Baldwin was charged with Felony Menacing, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, and Prohibited Use of a Weapon.
