Man arrested on suspicion of attempted carjacking

Colorado Springs police have arrested a man on they say tried to carjack a vehicle. It happened Wednesday night in the 1700 block of West Boulder Street.

The victim says a man walked up to his vehicle with a handgun and tried to steal his truck. The man was not able to drive off with it. Investigators say he was not familiar with how to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission.

The man then ran away. Officers later found him in the King Soopers shopping center near 19 th and Uintah streets.

The man, later identified as Andrew Lazcano, had to be subdued by a Taser.

He was arrested on charges of robbery.
