ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (KRDO) -- According to the National Park Service (NPS), timed-entry permits are no longer required to enter Rocky Mountain National Park.

Park officials said without the timed-entry permits, longer lines and traffic congestion are a possibility for visitors.

Timed-entry permit reservations were in effect from May 27 to Oct. 10, 2022. The NPS has not said if the timed-entry permit system will return in the spring.

The NPS website said visitors should check back in January 2023 for information regarding the 2023 summer season.
