Motorcycle rider dies after crashing into deer

Colorado State Patrol is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash near Caon City.

The crash happened Saturday around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 9, about 10 miles north of the Royal Gorge.

Troopers say the motorcycle rider hit a deer that was crossing the highway.

Robert Larson, 65, of Florence was seriously injured during the crash and was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Troopers say Larson was wearing a helmet during the accident.
