Home invasion suspects identified, arrested
The Colorado Springs Police Department has identified four people accused of breaking into a home on Monday night. The homeowner shot two of those suspects.
Police say that Christopher Spencer, Mychael Plunkett, Desiree Phillips and Justin Adam Spencer broke into a home in the 2400 block of East St. Vrain Street just before 10:00 p.m. Monday.
Al Michaud was home during the break-in. A struggle took place between Michaud and the suspects. Michaud got his gun and shot two of the suspects, police said.
“There was one by the door. I put a bullet in his chest. I was going to shoot the other one in the chest but the one who was closest to me hit my arm and the gun went off and hit him in his leg,” said Michaud.
Christopher Spencer remains in critical condition at the hospital. Puckett was treated for a gunshot wounds and released and arrested the same night. Phillips was arrested that night as well.
Police say that Justin Spencer, Christopher’s brother, turned himself in on Tuesday night.
All of the suspects are charged with robbery and conspiracy.
