Feeling extra hot outside recently? Colorado breaks record for hottest full summer ever

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Has it felt extra hot recently? You're not imagining things. Colorado is one of three states that set a record for their hottest full summer ever.

That matches a trend for most of the continental U.S. The average temperature from June through August was three degrees above the 20th-century average, topping the previous records set in 1936 and 2021.
