Man knocked to the floor, stabbed at Pueblo restaurant following argument about colleges

Pueblo police responded to a fight that broke out at a restaurant on Hwy 50 Thursday night.

Officers were told that two male customers began arguing over colleges and the fight turned physical.

One of the men pulled out a knife and the other grabbed golf clubs from his car.

The fight then led to the men swinging chairs at each other. Both were apparently hit, but the man armed with golf clubs got knocked to the floor. While on the ground, the other man stabbed him around the head and neck, sending him to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The man sent to the hospital was allegedly the initial aggressor so charges are expected to be forwarded.

The man with the knife was arrested for first-degree assault and will be booked into the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
