First MS expo held in Pueblo

Multiple sclerosis affects more than 2 million people in the U.S. but one group is helping people in our community.

The Multiple Sclerosis Alliance of Southern Colorado held the first MS Expo Saturday in Pueblo.

The alliance is trying to raise awareness about the disease, which anyone can get at any age.

Patty Glatfelter has had MS for 25 years, but doesn’t let the disease slow her down.

“Even though you may not be in a wheelchair or with a walker, it’s hard for people to realize that there are a lot of things that your life is radically changed because of the neurological condition,” said Glatfelter.

The alliance executive director says the most challenging part of the disease is that the symptoms can often be invisible.
