Police Shoot and Kill Suspect Following High-Speed Chase

A man suspected of driving a stolen car was shot and killed near Strasburg Saturday (06/06/15) morning.

According to KMGH, police started chasing the man around 7:40 am, on westbound I-70.

The chase reached speeds of 100 mph.

The suspect was reportedly in a stolen car. He ditch the vehicle at the 310 exit and got into a stand-off in a field with police. A witness says he was pointing a long gun at officers.

State Patrol says the man was fatally shot by officers, although the exact details have not been released.

State Patrol, Aurora Police and Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the chase.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
