Man shoots himself during Colorado Springs traffic stop
A man shot himself during a traffic stop early Sunday morning in Colorado Springs.
Police said an officer stopped Geordan Morris, 22, around 1 a.m. Sunday near North 29th Street and West Platte Avenue.
As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver’s side door open and the officer heard a huge pop that sounded like a gunshot.
Morris then fell out of the car and said that he shot himself, police said. He was taken to the hospital.
Police said besides the gun, Morris also had methamphetamine in his car. He was arrested on multiple charges.
