2 dead in fiery plane crash at Loveland Ski Area

Two people are dead after their small plane crashed into a slope at the Loveland Ski Area.

The single-engine plane crashed and burst into flames Monday morning, setting off a small wildfire that was quickly contained.

Capt. Randy Long of the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office says the plane crashed next to one of the ski area’s lifts.

The plane’s identification numbers were destroyed in the fire and authorities don’t have any details yet about where it was headed.
