9 struck by lightning in Larimer County

A fire official says nine people working at a Larimer County farm have been injured by lightning.

Wellington Fire Chief Gary Green tells KMGH-TV the workers were injured during a strong thunderstorm Thursday afternoon at Grant Family Farms. Green says two of the injured were in critical condition.

The victims were taken to Poudre Valley Hospital and the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.

Also Thursday, a 65-year-old woman was struck by lightning in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The National Park Service says the woman was injured near the Ute Crossing Trailhead on Trail Ridge Road. She was taken to Estes Park Medical Center. Her condition wasn’t immediately released.
