Woman arrested for interfering with investigation, kicking officers

A woman was arrested after she kicked officers responding to a report of an accidental shooting.

Shortly before 3 a.m. Friday, officers were called to the 400 block of S. Hancock Ave. to investigate an accidental shooting.

Police say the victim accidentally shot himself in the chest and arm with an antique shotgun, suffering a minor injury. He was taken to the hospital to treat the gunshot wound.

During the investigation, the victim’s step-daughter began interfering. While officers were placing the woman into the patrol car, she kicked the arresting officers.

Kimber Dorsey, 19, was arrested for Second Degree Assault on a Peace Officer and Obstruction.

No arrests or charges were made in connection to the actual shooting.
