Widefield School District confirms student brought gun to junior high school

MGN

SECURITY-WIDEFIELD, Colo. (KRDO) - A spokesperson for Widefield District 3 confirms a Sproul Jr. High School student has been disciplined after bringing a gun to school on April 15.

District 3 Director of Communications Samantha Briggs said the school intervened as soon as it learned about the gun. Briggs would not say what kind of gun was confiscated, if it was loaded, or how long it was on campus.

The district said all involved students and parents were notified about the incident.

One concerned parent reached out to KRDO Newschannel 13, saying all Sproul Jr. High School families should have been informed about the incident.
