COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Police say that a woman is dead following a traffic crash in east Colorado Springs late Friday.

The front seat passenger of the sedan was identified as 19-year-old Sarah M. Miranda of Colorado Springs, who died from her injuries at the hospital, police said.
CSPD's initial investigation revealed that the sedan was traveling northbound on Academy and tried to turn left onto westbound Platte when it was struck by the truck.

It's unknown at this time if speed or impairment were factors in the crash, police say.
This is the second traffic fatality of 2020. At this time last year there had also been two fatalities, police say.
