This Pueblo store sold the most winning lottery tickets in the state, but there’s a reason why

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) - "Sean S." had some of the best luck in the world on St. Patrick's Day when his Powerball ticket numbers were drawn, winning him $1,000,000.
But, while lucky, the win is far from unusual for the location he purchased it from. Winners Corner, located off North Main Street, has sold the most winning tickets out of any retailer in the state.
The location, according to Colorado Lottery data, has sold a whopping 22 winning tickets to people just like him. Even the second-place store pales in comparison, selling only six winning tickets.
There's another thing that sets the location apart: it participates in what's basically the UberEats of lottery tickets. Since 2019, a new lottery ticket business model has been operating in Colorado, allowing for the sale of tickets through an app. Couriers purchase tickets from a retailer and deliver them to the customer electronically or through the mail.
Winners Corner is a retailer with the app Jackpocket. Their partnership, which allows people to buy tickets from home, means the retailer is doing an astronomical amount of sales. Winners Corner had the highest number of lottery ticket sales in the state in 2022, according to the Colorado Lottery.
So, while the store is selling the highest number of winning tickets, it's also selling the highest number of tickets in general.
As for the location's latest winner, Sean says he would like to use some of the $1,000,000 he won on a new car.
“A Corvette would be my favorite,” he said. “But since I have two kids, maybe just a new Tahoe. It’s functional.”
