Traffic shifts starting on Nov. 6 for South Academy Boulevard Improvements Project

City of Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO)-- Starting today (Nov. 6), traffic patterns on South Academy Boulevard will adjust between Airport Road and Bijou Street.

According to the City of Colorado Springs, both northbound and southbound traffic will move to the west side of the road and overnight lane closures will be in place in the area.

Crews there will be reconstructing the new northbound lanes, tying in a new water main, and installing new storm drainage systems.

This will allow access at Pikes Peak Avenue on the west side of South Academy Boulevard, but as of now, Pikes Peak Avenue will remain closed east of South Academy Boulevard through the month of November.

Travelers to this area are being advised to expect delays and use alternative routes.
