Denver Police Department partners with Lincoln Tech for free catalytic converter etching event

KRDO

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO)-- In an effort to help combat catalytic converter thefts, the Denver Police Department is partnering up with Lincoln Tech for a free etching event.

Catalytic converters contain precious metals, making them valuable on the black market, according to the Denver Police Department.

To deter theft and aid law enforcement in tracking and prosecuting thieves, Lincoln Tech, the CO Auto Theft Prevention Authority, and the Denver Police Department will be attaching a permanent identifying sticker to vehicle owners’ catalytic converter.

The free etching event will be held Thursday, August 17, from 10-1 p.m., at Lincoln Tech located on 11194 East 45th Avenue.

Participants to the event can scan the code below to register or visit the website at the link here
