Crews rescue injured driver who crashed down an embankment onto train tracks

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A driver is in the hospital after crashing down an embankment and ending up on train tracks.

Tuesday, the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to the area of S. Nevada and Mill St., just south of Downtown Colorado Springs.

According to CSFD, a vehicle went off the road, down an embankment, and came to a stop on train tracks.

CSFD used a counterbalance to bring the driver up safely.

According to CSFD, the driver was injured in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
