Trapped party extracted by fire crews after an SUV struck a tree
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado State Patrol (CSP) responded to a wreck they say was caused by low visibility.
Around 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, under a thick layer of fog, a van collided with an SUV near the intersection of Hodgen and roller-coaster roads. The violent collision sent the SUV into a tree.
The driver of the SUV had to be cut out by fire crews, according to CSP.
CSP says that the airbags did their job and the injuries were minor.
Troopers at the scene tell us neither drugs nor alcohol played a factor. CSP believes that the fog and low visibility are to blame.
