Military spouses get chance to connect during “Coffee with the Mayor” event

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Military spouses got a chance to meet and support each other Thursday during the "Coffee with the Mayor" event at the Penrose House.

The event was a chance to collaborate with community leaders, employers, and other partners working on behalf of the military and their families.

Dozens of military spouses attended the event from across five installations.

"We have a cultural understanding of the military and what it takes to hold down the fort, if you will, to take care of the home front and support our military members so the mission gets done," Kristen Christy said.
