Denver Broncos gain Panthers Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in trade

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Denver Broncos confirmed Wednesday the Carolina Panthers are trading quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

In a statement, the Broncos General Manager George Paton said "acquiring Teddy Bridgewater adds competition, experience and a strong veteran presence to our quarterback room."

The Broncos will now send their 2021 sixth-round pick to the Panthers in return for Bridgewater.

Bridgewater is a seven-year veteran and started 15 games during his lone season with the Panthers. According to the Panthers, Bridgewater won the NFL's 2020 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, given every year to a player who "best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship."

The Broncos shared a video of highlights, welcoming Bridgewater to the team.
