FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) — Some locally owned businesses in Fremont County are taking their products online after having to close their doors because of COVID-19.

The Greater Cañon City Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Florence Chamber of Commerce are encouraging people to shop locally whenever possible, instead of relying on big box stores that are still open.

To make shopping locally easier for customers, Fremont County government and small businesses have teamed up to create Royal Gorgeous Deals. It’s an online auction and storefront for local businesses to sell gift cards, services and products online.

Royal Gorgeous Deals is open for bids until April 27th. Businesses are selling everything from food and tourism activities to art and apparel.

The cities’ chambers of commerce are also promoting the 3/50 initiative. It encourages people to pick their 3 favorite businesses and spend $50 on gift certificates, products, or services.
