Weather Alert: Windy, cold and slick roads for some – 12/27/18

TODAY: Other than a few snow showers through Canon City and areas south, we will be seeing a partly cloudy, cold day. Winds will gust into the 30s and low 40s out east of I-25, with breezy conditions near the mountains. Highs will only be in the 20s and 30s today so it will feel more like the teens. Be sure to bundle up!

TONIGHT: Light, fluffy snow develops again after midnight. This continues into the morning hours tomorrow. Lows tonight will be bitter cold and will drop into the teens and single digits. Mountain cities will be between 0 and -2.

EXTENDED: Snow showers will be ongoing through the afternoon for much of southern Colorado, especially over the southern mountains. When snow clears in the late afternoon and early evening, we will be left with very minor accumulations. Look for a trace to 2″ here in the Pikes Peak Region (if that), with around 1-3″ through areas near the southern mountains. The weekend looks drier and warmer with highs in the 30s and 40s. New Years Eve brings a few light snow showers.
