Lakewood woman caught on camera confronting porch pirate

A Colorado woman getting some attention this week for running off a porch pirate who was attempting to steal her packages.

Renee Abeyta was inside her Lakewood home doing chores Wednesday afternoon when she got a notification on her phone that someone was at her front door.

Initially, Abeyta thought it was a delivery worker dropping off some items she ordered online, but when she looked outside, there was no one to been seen and no packages on her doorstep.

Thinking the situation was odd, Abeyta decided to check the security footage from her outside doorbell camera through the Ring app. Ring is a device with a camera to monitor and record events happening outside a person’s home.

The footage that was captured showed a woman walking up to Abeyta’s porch and stealing a package. Upset with what she saw, Abeyta decided to take action and catch up with the porch pirate to deal with her on her own.

Discovering what had just happened pretty quickly, Abeyta was able to spot the porch pirate not far from her home. When she finally caught up to her, she began chasing and yelling to give her package back.

You can hear Abeyta screaming in the video, “What’s your name? Did you just steal something? Give it! I’m going to f****** call the police. I got you on camera!”

Seeming to not respond, the thief starts running further away from Abeyta. That’s when she continues to yell at the porch pirate.

“You f***** with the wrong person! What’s wrong with you?” yelled Abeyta.

The thief has not been identified but it has been reported that she did give the package back to Abeyta.
