Ryan Fire near Colorado, Wyoming border grows to 19,000 acres

The Ryan Fire continued to burn through acres of land near the Wyoming border of northwest Colorado, and the blaze has nearly reached 20,000 acres as of Monday.

It started on Sept. 15 northwest of Walden, but it has consumed 19,328 acres since then and is zero percent contained, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire isn’t known, but crews are primarily focused on setting up a containment line. The fire has been burning into Wyoming, and it’s mostly been burning in rural areas away from any structures.

Fire departments from around the state have sent crews to the blaze, including Security FD.
