Mild and warm weather – 08/12/18

Tonight: Mainly clear skies are expected; however, we’ve noted some haziness in the skies today – primarily due to wildfires burning in Canada. If the smoke doesn’t impede the view too much, it should otherwise be great for peak viewing of the Perseid meteor shower early Monday (between 2 a.m. and dawn should be the best time for checking those out!).It was also a new moon Saturday, so the extra darkness in the sky should help highlight those incredible meteors.

Tomorrow: Monday will feature beautiful weather. Sunny skies with a few clouds will prevail. Even still, we’ll have to monitor for the potential for haziness returning to the area. Temperatures will soar to the 80s and 90s. It will be warm, quiet and mild. Storms will be primarily confined to the mountains and perhaps a few locations in the southeastern plains.

Extended: Isolated storms make a comeback in southern Colorado on Tuesday, but storms don’t appear to become severe with large hail and damaging gusts. That could change, so stick with us. Definitely keep the umbrella packed with you on a daily basis thereafter; storms last through this upcoming weekend. It could be active from time-to-time. We’ll have to watch for any flash flooding concerns that may arise over recent, local burn scars. Additionally, we’ll have to track any potential situations of strong-to-severe storms. Stay with us!
