Student, 18, caught with gun at Ponderosa High School

An 18-year-old student at Ponderosa High School in Parker was arrested Monday after a tip that she was possibly dealing drugs and had a gun in her car on campus.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says someone sent a note via Text-A-Tip about the student, and the school immediately began investigating.

A school resource officer found the reported student’s vehicle and searched it to find the handgun.

Police arrested Margaret Goeldner for possession of a firearm on school grounds, juvenile in possession of a handgun, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Facebook post by DCSO.

DCSO gave credit to the person who anonymously reported the tip, saying it helped “eliminate the possibility of any harm to the student body.”

“It is because of situations like this that we provide the option of Text-A-Tip, an anonymous reporting system, that students can utilize to report crime directly to us and the school district,” DCSO said.

We’ve reached out to the Douglas County Detention Center for Goeldner’s mugshot.
