Woodland Park schools to remain closed Thursday due to threat

Woodland Park police are still investigating a credible threat made against the town’s high school, and schools will remain closed Thursday.

The threat was found inside a high school bathroom, but the exact message wasn’t released.

The Woodland Park Police Department is offering a $500 reward for any information about the suspect’s identity. You can call police at 719-687-9262.

The district says lost educational time will be made up through extended school days or adding days to the school year.

All Woodland Park School District schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 28, due to a threat deemed credible by the Woodland Park Police Department.

This also includes all scheduled activities and athletics.

On Friday, February 23, officials discovered graffiti inside a girl’s restroom at the Woodland Park High School making a threat to the school directed towards a specific date.

It’s unclear what the message said, but investigators indicated that it targeted the entire student body.

The District will continue to work with local law enforcement on this investigation.
