Baseball draftee surprises parents with paid off mortgage

Instead of using the money for himself, one baseball player draftee decided to give it back to the two people that shaped him the most.

Pavin Smith, who was recently drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks, presented his parents with the news that he had paid off their mortgage on Christmas.

And it was all caught on camera…

You can see in the video Smith’s mom reading a letter out loud with his dad nearby. The two can barely hold back tears as their eyes honed in on the good news.

Smith tweeted out the video with the message:

“Thank you for everything you have done for me! This doesn’t make up for any of it. Love you both so much. Our home is finally all YOURS. Merry Christmas!”

Smith was originally drafted in 2014 by the Rockies but never signed due to his goals of going to college.
