Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast / Chilly! 12/17/17

Today: Colder for many areas. During the morning hours some areas of freezing fog or some flurries may exist. While we do not expect precipitation to be heavy anywhere today, we always need to be wary of icing with any freezing fog that may develop. By afternoon the clouds should begin to break up. Clearing should occur over the higher terrain first, and over the mountains the air may actually warm into the 40s. Lower elevations of El Paso and northern Pueblo and eastern Fremont counties will probably be the slowest to clear, and as a result probably the coldest areas on Sunday with much of the day spent in the 20s and 30s.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with low temperatures in the teens and 20s.

Extended: Warmer on Monday with afternoon temperatures in the 50s for the plains, and 40s for the mountains. A weak cold front may cool the air slightly on Tuesday, then warmer again on Wednesday. Much colder area wide with a chance for snow on Thursday. Temperatures Friday morning will probably be in the single digits above and below zero. Another surge of cold air may bring a little light snow to the area late Saturday into early Sunday.
