Cameras in school bathrooms cause controversy

A Denver area school’s decision to install cameras in its bathrooms is causing controversy.

Windsor Charter Academy alerted parents in a newsletter. School officials say the goal is to make sure students are safe and the building is secure.

However, it isn’t sitting well with some parents and students.

“The first word that comes to mind is disgusting,” said Trevor Garrett, a parent. “I never thought it would be on anyone’s mind to put cameras in bathrooms anywhere.”

The cameras will only be in the high school bathrooms because of the floor to ceiling stalls.
