El Paso County GOP Chairman Trevor Dierdorff is now charged in connection to a deadly traffic accident.

Dierdorff is charged with Careless Driving Causing Death and Drivers to Exercise Due Care, according to Colorado Springs police.

Dierdorff is charged in connection to an accident that happened on March 28, 2017, in the 300-block of North Tejon Street in Colorado Springs. Investigators say Dierdorff struck Mel Tolbert, the owner of Platte Floral, while he was walking. Tolbert later died from his injuries.
