Boys and Girls Club offers childcare for busy resort workers

As more than 10,000 visitors pour into Steamboat Springs ahead of New Year’s weekend, the Boys and Girls Club is stepping up to help parents get to work.

The Steamboat Pilot & Today reports that with resort workers pulling overtime and kids on break from school, the Boys and Girls Club of Steamboat Springs is offering $1 an hour childcare to all through Jan. 6.

When school is in session, the club offers after-school programming until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for an annual fee of $25.

Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Dana Duran says it’s important the club is accessible to families so kids aren’t cooped up or unsupervised at home.
