Donations pour in for Colorado Gives Day

December 6 is Colorado Gives Day!

It’s a day where all Coloradans are encouraged to donate to nonprofit organizations and charities across the state.

You can visit https://www.coloradogives.org/ and find more than 2,000 organizations to support. There are many causes to help, from youth development to animal rescues and medical research.

The idea is to “give where you live” and help a local nonprofit.

In 2015, Coloradans donated more than 28 million dollars over the 24-hour period. This year, organizers hope to top that amount.

By 6 a.m., Coloradans had already donated nearly nine million dollars!

Colorado Gives Day was started in 2007 as a way to celebrate philanthropy and increase donations.

All charities listed on https://www.coloradogives.org/ have been checked and approved by the IRS and Secretary of State, so you can be sure your money is going to a worthy cause.

If you are donating outside of the website, be sure to check your charity here: CheckThe Charity.
