Trump’s $10 million ad buy includes Colorado

Donald Trump is starting to air television ads in this general election fight. On Monday, the campaign purchased a $10 million ad buy to go up in nine states including Colorado.

KRDO political analyst Josh Dunn believes ads may not be so critical for the GOP nominee.

“He’s benefited from so much free media, advertising may not be so imperative,” Dunn said. Still, you’d rather be Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump in Colorado.

This move comes just days after the Clinton campaign decided not to renew an ad buy in Colorado suggesting she and her staffers are confident they will keep the state in the blue column this fall.

“We’ve been encouraged by the numbers we’ve seen, by the numbers of volunteers coming into to our 18 coordinated offices across the state,” Clinton’s state director Emmy Ruiz said.

Clinton has widened her lead throughout the summer in the Centennial State.

“The numbers we’re seeing today will not be the numbers we’re having to compete with in October and early November,” Trump’s state director Patrick Davis said. “We don’t think Hillary Clinton can win Colorado. Her message of another eight years, another four years of Barack Obama is a killer. Colorado will go for Trump big in November.”

“Americans and Coloradans have been paying attention, they have been listening,” Ruiz said. “They’ve been hearing all the divisive language that Trump has been talking about. and that they have no interest in voting for him.”

The Clinton team began airing general election ads in Colorado in June.
