Latino voters react to Trump’s softening on immigration as GOP nominee attends Aspen fundraiser

Donald Trump is set to attend a fundraiser in Aspen Thursday night. This comes as Trump begins soften on his once hard-line immigration stance.

Latino voters on both sides of the aisle in Southern Colorado weighed in on the GOP presidential nominee’s position on a pivotal issue in the campaign.

“When he comes down the escalator to announce he’s running for president, the very first thing out of his mouth, they’re sending they’re worst, they’re rapists, they’re murderers, they’re sending drugs,” Democrat Alberto Gonzales said. “You can’t unring that bell.”

However, longtime Trump backer Todd Garcia has a different viewpoint.

“We have people who have overstayed their visas, they need to be either vetted or gone,” Garcia said. “We have people who’ve come across our border illegally. They need to be vetted and checked. He’s not softening his stance, he’s correcting it.”
