Plow crews ask for patience

A rapidly shared video on social media from the Colorado Department of Transportation is pushing the need for safety on roads.

It shows a truck driver weaving his vehicle inbetween two moving plows to pass them, just one of many examples of reckless driving while crews try to clear roads.

“I just came down I-25,” said Jack Ladley, operations manager at the Colorado Springs Streets Division. “There was a car in front of me that didn’t spend the time they should have, clearing their car off.”

He told KRDO NewsChannel 13 his crews daily complain about dangerous drivers around city plows.

“I would caution folks: a guy or gal driving a truck that is pushing a piece of iron in front of them, at the same time trying to put material out the back, focused on traffic, trying not to cover sidewalks. Don’t assume those guys see you,” he said.
