Smoke plume south of Colorado Springs is from Fort Carson fire training exercise

Fort Carson says a fire training exercise was conducted on one of its training ranges Tuesday.

The exercise created a large plume of smoke that was visible from parts of both Colorado Springs and Pueblo.

Fort Carson says the fire is controlled and is being monitored.
