Troopers say 14-year-old driver led them on high-speed chase

Police say five teenagers are in custody after a 14-year-old driver started a high-speed chase through southern Utah.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Ryan Bauer says troopers got a call Sunday evening about someone driving recklessly and speeding on I-15. He says the driver refused to stop when troopers caught up to the car and started a chase that reached almost 120 miles per hour.

Bauer says the driver tried to exit but hit a sign and crashed into a ditch. He says three teens tried to run but were captured.

Troopers say the car was stolen and they found a stolen gun inside.

All five teens are from Colorado. They were held at a juvenile detention center Monday night and are facing felony charges.
