People could move out of Pueblo County neighborhood because of too many marijuana grows

People say they could move out of a neighborhood in Pueblo County because there are too many marijuana grows.

This comes after the county’s liquor and marijuana licensing board approved a pot grow on Siloam Road, which is southwest of Pueblo.

“We are excited but we want to be good neighbors,” GreenhouseFX attorney Vince Linden said. His grow was approved Monday under the condition that his building complies with the county’s standard.

Barbara Tilton lives near the proposed grow. She said this one is one too many.

“(I’m) scared for our safety, scared for our grandchildren, I’m scared for our water situation,” she said.

Tilton said there are at least 20 marijuana grows in the Siloam area.

“We are considering moving if they put (a grow) right across the street from us. The neighbors next to us said they are moving this summer, we are considering it,” she said.

The county said one license has been approved to grow and three others are waiting for approval in the Siloam area.

“If people are looking at structures that look unprofessional, if they think there is something that looks unsafe, it’s a fire hazard if it smells bad or think they are unlicensed that they need to call the county,” she said.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 took pictures of what Tilton believes are unlicensed marijuana grows in the Siloam area. We sent them to the county for inspection. We’ll let you know the outcome.

If you have questions or concerns about a marijuana grow you’re asked to call the county’s planning and development department at 583-6100.
