Humane Society Passes Major Milestone Today

The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak region and Pueblo Animal Services crossed a major milestone today. They celebrated their 10,000th animal adoption earlier today.

This is the highest number of adoptions the sister shelters have ever seen in one year.
President and CEO, Jan McHugh credits the efficiency of the team.

She told NewsChannel 13 that, “We have been able to streamline the process by using volunteers to help us to do matchmaking with clients who come in and are interested in adopting”.

In addition to the 10,000 adoptions, they’ve been able to unite over 5,000 lost pets with their families this year.
