Low donations for Christmas giveaway

made a special bottle and box for colonel barr. he told us, he took fire several times, doing his job. barr would go on to serve until 1974. he also flew missions in vietnam before moving on to the pentagon. the bob telmosse foundation’s christmas giveaway is this weekend… but donations are down. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller shows us how volunteers are moving forward.. despite the challenges. it’s been a tradition for 33 years … gordon weakland sot: there’s a lot of families that have difficult situtaions. which is why gordon weakland delivered what he could. sot: it has to make everybody that gives feel just a little better about themselves. the problem for the bob telmosse foundation – not as many are giving. donations are down – hundreds of bikes short of what’s needed, not as many turkeys either. sot: it’s just down more than we’ve had in a long time. but still, the giveaway will go on. standup: in just three days time, this empty wearhouse will turn into something of a christmas miracle, all thanks to one man’s dream, which still lives on even after his death. carol reinert sot: bob always talked about the bible story, loaves and fishes. we would just be running out of chickens and a truck would drive up with chickens. we were really concerned about bikes, then we’d get a truckload but … we’re still short where we were last year. carol reinert’s husband, bob telmosse, was an entrepreneuer. thirty-three years ago, he wanted to give back… so by working with people and businesses, he created this tradition. sot: bob was a visionary, i think he would be over the moon thrilled, he knew it would be something that would last forever. he died nine years ago, but the giveaway lives on. even with challenges this year… sot: he just asked me to keep the giveaway going as long as we could. in colorado springs, greg miller, krdo newschannel 13. some of the items still need: miller, krdo newschannel 13. some of the items still need: new toys, new and used bicycles, winter
