UPDATED: Crash near Pueblo causes major delays on I-25
A woman was arrested and two people were taken to the hospital after a crash on I-25 in Pueblo West Sunday night.
The crash happened shortly before 8 pm on I-25 and Purcell Boulevard in Pueblo West. It caused major delays on I-25.
State Patrol said alcohol impairment was a factor in the crash.
According to State Patrol, a Toyota Corolla and a Chevrolet Cruze were going northbound on I-25, the Toyota was on the right lane, the Chevrolet on the left. State Patrol said the Toyota entered the left lane and hit the Chevrolet, that both vehicles began to rotate clockwise and traveled across the right lane and shoulder and hit the guard rail. The Chevrolet broke through the guardrail and overturned onto its driver side, where it came to rest.
The driver of the Toyota, Mikala Mathias, 23, of Colorado Springs was not injured. She was booked into the Pueblo County jail on vehicular assault, DUI, DUI Per Se and no proof of insurance.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Jackson Davis, 18, of Castle Rock was flown to Penrose Hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in his vehicle, Timothy Jackson, 47, was taken by ground to Parkview Medical Center.
A multi-vehicle crash is causing major delays on I-25 just north of Pueblo Sunday night.
The Colorado Department of Transportation reported shortly after 9 p.m. that the northbound lanes of I-25 were closed at mile marker 108.
Details on what caused the crash or the extent of injuries of those involved are not available at this time.
