A Christmas moose at the zoo

When you think about the holiday season, you probably think about reindeer but there are other animals that are made for the cold and snow.

One of those animals is Tahoma, a 1,200 pound Canada moose that lives at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

A moose is the largest member of the deer family, and like deer their antlers fall off every year. Tahoma’s antlers just happened to fall off on Christmas Day last year.

You can see Tahoma and all of the animals at the zoo this season during the Electric Safari celebration.

The zoo is open every night through January 1st until 8:30, except for Christmas Eve.
