Pueblo man accused in county assault
A Pueblo man is facing burglary and assault charges after a weekend incident that happened in Pueblo County.
Michael Martinez, 42, was arrested at his home in Pueblo on Saturday afternoon.
Deputies began looking for Martinez earlier in the day after they were called to a home in the 4300 block of Goodnight Ave. to investigate a reported home invasion.
The man who lives in the home told investigators that a man who identified himself as “Wolf” knocked on the door and asked for his roommate. The man said he didn’t believe his roommate was home. When the man went to check his roommate’s bedroom, deputies say Martinez went into the home uninvited.
The sheriff’s office says that when the man ordered Martinez out of the house, Martinez punched him in the face and threatened him if he told anyone about the incident.
Investigators were able to contact Martinez’s mother and confirm he was the man who they were looking for. They say Martinez also goes by the name “Wolfy.”
Martinez spent most of the weekend in jail. Bond has not yet been set.
